Hold control key to move left and right.
Left mouse button, click and drag would give you a 3-d view of the object.
You can use three views. You can see side, top and front.
Viewport shading can use wire frame.

All the different properties of a model can be keyframed e.g. the size of the model, if you want it to grow overtime, you can actually have a size property to determine how it is to move.
You could have a keyframe for colors and textures.

Character Animation in 3D is actually faster. The computer puts moves into places that you have left put.
I watched this video and it helped a little. Unfortunately, the continuation of the videos have been cancelled. I dunno why.
If you draw a vertical line, you can move the mouse up and down and you would be able to move the screen up and down. The same occurs when drawing a horizontal line.
NB: Can do video and audio editing in Blender.
To zoom in and out, you the scroll wheel.
Shift+scroll wheel= up and down
Control+command+scroll wheel= left and right
Click and hold middle mouse=can rotate around
Tab jumps between object mode and edit mode.
